Bob Byrnes was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He also was a very special member of the Garden State Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group. Bob had the ability to approach each task positively and readily; no task was too difficult for him to accomplish. Bob navigated his journey through Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis with dignity and grace. Unable to gain admission into a lung transplant program, Bob embraced his role as an Esbriet Ambassador, sharing his knowledge and insights into this life-threatening disease. Bob’s resolve and graceful acceptance of his eventual outcome was truly comforting and inspirational to others struggling with their journey. When Bob spoke, his approach was always gentle, supportive and respectful. He gave others confidence and greater meaning to their lives. Learning something new from Bob was really a reflection on your thoughts. All of us in the Garden State Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group were blessed to have known him.
