Fundraising for Transplant
There are resources to help patients and their families raise funds for expenses associated with a transplant.
Patients and families can incur very high costs from a transplant, including prescription costs, hospital bills, medical equipment, lodging, transportation, and more. Help Hope Live (formerly National Transplant Assistance Fund) and Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) are two separate organizations that provide similar financial support to transplant patients and families.
Help Hope Live assists transplant patients and families in fundraising for the expenses associated with a transplant. Help Hope Live will connect individuals with a Fundraising Coordinator, who will provide an overview of their services, as well as resources and materials to get started. A Fundraising Coordinator will assist in planning fundraising events and creating a fundraising page.
COTA serves children needing transplants. COTA helps families with children requiring organ transplants fundraise for expenses related to transplant such as medications and insurance bills, lodging, food, transportation, and more. COTA guides families and communities with fundraising initiatives for transplant patients to ensure that no child or young adult is denied a transplant due to financial difficulties.
Both organizations are national 501(c)(3) nonprofits.
