20th Annual Kidney Open Golf Outing

Thank you for making our 20th Annual Kidney Open Golf Outing a great success!

The Kidney Open started when Dan Sinnott was diagnosed with a tumor on his kidney. Yearning to play one last round of golf, he called his friends and organized a golf outing to take place the day before he underwent surgery. His surgery was a success, and with that life-changing experience he developed a profound empathy for hospital patients. A year after his surgery, the same friends who attended his pre-surgery game decided to make their golf outing an annual event.

For the past 20 years, Dan has collaborated with his close friend Howard Nathan, former President & CEO of Gift of Life Donor Program, to use the outing to help support Gift of Life Howie’s House.

Proceeds from the golf outing directly help transplant families receive the care and support they so greatly need during their transplant journey. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Adopt-A-Family Program at Gift of Life Howie’s House, which helps subsidize the costs for families staying at the House to keep the room fees low. Guests are only asked to pay a small nightly fee of $40 despite actual costs exceed $175 per night. The Adopt-A-Family Program also covers the cost for families who cannot afford the nightly fee, ensuring that no family is ever turned away due to an inability to pay.

Our 20th Annual Kidney Open Golf Outing took place on Monday, August 19, 2024 at the DuPont Country Club in Wilmington, DE.

Our 20th Annual Kidney Open Golf Outing was another year of comradery and philanthropy, proving that reaching our fundraising goals is par for the course for our contributors. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, participants, and supporters we were able to raise over $147,000 for Gift of Life Howie’s House. This marks our most successful year since the inception of this event.

It is because of our supporters that we are able to continue our mission of providing care to transplant patients and their families as they navigate the transplant process. We are greatly appreciative of your generosity and ongoing support of our mission. We can’t wait to tee off again next year!
