Stuff the Shuttle

Keeping Howie's House stocked with basic home necessities require a lot of donated food and supplies. Hosting a Wish List Drive is an excellent activity to involve your workplace, school, club or friends groups.

Stuff the Shuttle Policy & Guidelines

To keep Gift of Life Howie’s House well-stocked with essential items, we rely on generous donations of food and household supplies. You can play a vital role in this effort by hosting a “Stuff-the-Shuttle” event, a fantastic activity that can engage your family, colleagues, religious community, or friends.

Your support in hosting a Stuff-the-Shuttle event is greatly appreciated and helps ensure that Gift of Life Howie’s House remains well-stocked with the essentials it needs.

  1. Organize a Wishlist or food drive collection at your workplace, school, house of worship, or neighborhood.
  2. Complete the Stuff the Shuttle Request form and provide 3 possible dates and times for our House Shuttle to visit your location.
  3. Rally your group to fill the Shuttle with the collected items.
  4. Our House staff will then transport the donations back to Gift of Life Howie’s House for distribution.
  5. Complete the below In-Kind donation form in order for us to provide a receipt of your donation and so that we may include your gift in our records.
Every donation – whether part of a Wish List Drive or a Stuff the Shuttle – helps ensure transplant families have:
  • Meals to share
  • Essentials for daily living
  • Comfort during a critical time
We are deeply grateful for your support and partnership.
At Gift of Life Howie’s House, community groups often support transplant families by organizing Wish List Drives. In some cases, these drives may also become part of a Stuff the Shuttle experience. While similar, these opportunities are designed for different types of engagement
A Wish List Drive is the most common way to support the House. Groups collect high-need items – such as snacks, toiletries, and household essentials – to help keep our House stocked for families staying with us. How it works:
  • Items are collected by your group and delivered to the House
  • Donations must be new, unopened, and nonperishable
  • Groups may also choose to:
    • Ship items directly via our Amazon Wish List
    • Make a financial contribution in lieu of items
Best for:
  • Offices, schools, community groups
  • Flexible timelines and locations
  • Simple, low-lift engagement
The House Stuff the Shuttle Program is a high-impact version of a Wish List Drive that includes a visual and experiential component centered around our shuttle. These drives are designed to:
  • Create a memorable, mission-focused moment
  • Visually demonstrate community impact
  • Offer photo and storytelling opportunities
As shown in our promotional materials, these drives help “fill the shuttle” with essential items that directly support transplant families.
Because our shuttle is actively used to transport transplant families to and from lifesaving care, availability is limited. Shuttle participation may be offered when:
  • The drive is large-scale (high volume of items – enough to fill our shuttle)
  • The location is within 20 miles of the House
  • Scheduling does not interfere with guest transportation needs
In some cases, a drive may be designated as “Stuff the Shuttle,” but:
  • Groups deliver items directly to the House where we can arrange to stage the Shuttle for a photo opportunity with your group

  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Fresh Fruit
  • Frozen Vegetables
  • Frozen Entrees
